For the last week, we have been answering some key questions about chiropractic over on our socials. We thought we would pop them and the answers here for you! Do you accept health insurance?
Health insurance can cover chiropractic care, it depends on which provider and package you are on. Some insurance companies we can directly invoice for you, and others we ask that you pay and then claim back.
Do I need a refferal from my GP or another healthcare provider?
You do not need a refferal from another healthcare provider to use us! We do sometimes refer you to other healthcare providers (such as a nurtitional therapist, massage therapist, podiatrist or the GP).
What is a chiropractic adjustment?
A chiropractic "adjustment" refers to a technique used by chiropractors to restore normal joint movement in the body. When the body experiences physical stress—whether from a major incident like an accident or from repeated minor strains, such as carrying a heavy backpack—the muscles surrounding a joint can tighten to protect it from further harm. These tense muscles may become sore, painful, or even irritate nearby nerves. By restoring normal joint movement, an adjustment helps the surrounding area settle, reducing muscle tension and alleviating pain
Do I need to come more than once?
We wish chiropractic worked in just one visit—life would be much easier if it did! Healing and developing new movement patterns or habits takes time. As your body begins this process, it often needs ongoing support to prevent it from reverting to its old state. That’s why multiple visits are typically recommended. The good news? As you heal, your condition improves and your pain reduces, so the time between visits naturally extends—because your body begins to need less support. If you only come for one or two visits, you might feel some short-term relief, but there’s a chance it won’t last.
