It’s the burning question almost everyone has when they walk into the clinic:
“How many sessions will I need?”
You want to know what to expect, how your body might respond, and how long it will take before you start feeling like you again. And that’s completely understandable.
So let’s talk about it honestly, clearly, and without over‑promising.
The Short Answer: It Depends on Your Body
There isn’t a single number that fits everyone. How many sessions you’ll need depends on:
Your symptoms
How long you’ve had the issue
How your body and nervous system respond
Your lifestyle
Your stress levels
Your goals (pain‑free? running a marathon?)
How consistent you are with your home exercises
No two bodies heal at the same pace. Some people feel a shift after the first session. For others, it’s a gradual process. Both are completely normal.
The Three Phases of Care
I find it helpful to think of healing in phases, as it gives you a clear sense of what to expect.
1. Pain Relief Phase
This is where we focus on:
Reducing pain
Helping you move more freely
This phase is about settling things down so your body can breathe again.
2. Strength & Stability Phase
Once the pain starts easing, we move towards:
Building strength
Improving stability
Reducing flare‑ups
Increasing your confidence in movement
You’ll usually notice more good days, fewer setbacks, and a sense that your body is “holding” the changes better.
3. Wellbeing Phase
This is your long‑term support phase — a bit like putting your car in for a service.
Here we:
Keep things functioning well
Review your exercises
Support your lifestyle
Prevent old patterns from creeping back in
This phase is about staying well.
You’re Never Doing It Alone
Through all three phases, I’m right there with you, listening, adapting, and working as a team. Your plan is always personalised, flexible, and shaped around your goals and your life.
