What happens during an appointment?

Our appointments are guided by our clients and their needs. No two appointments are the same, and our approach may differ from other chiropractors.

Arrival

Once you are in the clinic, we take a moment for you to settle in. We talk about how you are feeling, any changes since your last visit, and what is improving or what is challenging. This gives us a clear view of how you are progressing from your view point, and helps us to shape the treatment for the day.

Orthopaedic / neurological testing

Sometimes we may need to carry out some more testing, this could be due to a new presentation, for example, onset of hip pain, it could be during a reassessment to see how you are progressing

McTimoney Based Treatment
We generally follow the McTimoney Protocol which works through the whole body: Neck

Pelvis

Lower limb

Upper limb Back

Alongside the adjustments, we often incorporate soft tissue work. We do adapt the protocol depending on the client, for example so of our clients prefer to remain seated, some prefer us starting on their back, some prefer we don't adjust their feet.

Exercise and home care

We finish the session by re-capping on progress and updating your exercises based on how you are presenting. This may include:

Breathwork

Gentle stretching

Strength building

Stability building.

The exercises are then uploaded onto the clinic app so you have access to them.
